Abstract

This article examines strategies for using educational videos based on a multimodal approach in teaching English to 10th–11th grade students in general secondary education. Multimodal instruction, which presents information through multiple sensory channels at once, can be highly effective in enhancing students’ listening comprehension skills. The article offers a theoretical analysis of the linguistic and psycho-pedagogical foundations of multimodal instruction, with a particular focus on the role of audiovisual materials in developing listening comprehension. Additionally, it presents methodological approaches for integrating educational videos into classroom practice, supported by international examples and practical recommendations. Research indicates that using video materials in education boosts students’ motivation and engagement, leading to significant improvements in their listening comprehension skills.
