Ushbu maqolada biologiya fanida metakognitiv ko‘nikmalarni rivojlantirishning dolzarbligi yoritilgan. Metakognitiv ko‘nikmalar – bu shaxsning o‘z fikrlash jarayonini nazorat qilish, rejalashtirish va baholash qobiliyatidir. Tadqiqot davomida adabiyot tahlili, pedagogik tajriba hamda kuzatish usullari qo‘llanildi. Natijalarda talabalar biologik tushunchalarni chuqurroq anglaganligi, mustaqil tahlil qilish hamda reflektiv yondashuvni shakllantirganligi aniqlandi. Muhokama jarayonida metakognitiv yondashuvning biologiya ta’limidagi samaradorligi tahlil qilinib, kelgusida biologiya fanini o‘qitishda bu yondashuvni keng joriy etish zarurligi asoslab berildi.
